In 2006 Johnson and Wales University and the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (SBDC) became a new strategic friend of Progreso Latino. Together, this new partnership is assisting the Latino small business community to create new opportunities for growing businesses.

This business development program offers workshops and training programs to give the Latino small business community access to business resources they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.


Many new and developing businesses throughout Rhode Island are attributing much of their new found success to our development program.

Training programs and clinics include:

  • Start-up Assistance
  • Getting your business up and running
  • Marketing & Sales
  • Marketing on A Shoe String budget

The Small Business Development Center provides entrepreneurs with best fit resources to create and transform their businesses.

The SBDC promotes entrepreneurship and strengthens small business in Rhode Island by serving as a focal point for municipal, academic, banking, and other resources, and through one-on-on counseling and low-cost group educational services.
